Our strikers cannot score goals. Sakho never got going due to injury but Valencia, Carroll and Jellyfish dont score goals . That is our simple problem. We have been relying on individual talents of Payet, Lanzini and Zarate to paper over the cracks to some extent. Zarate is a striker I guess but has done his best work out wide or from deep lying positions behind a front man.
If Villa score we are in trouble it would suggest?

We were 5 points better off at the same time last year but then yes, sam wrote off the rest of the season.

Yes a Lot of us were.Things were going great. Then Sam played that team and told the players not to aim so high and it couldn't be done. We promptly then had a disaster of a second half of the season!

In the best part of 60 years I do not recall many good Boxing Day results. Maybe its just my pessimistic view on all things West Ham :-) I have been conditioned to expect the worst over the years.
It has the feeling of one of those games where the struggling opposition get the result they need against a West Ham side that is toothless ?
Our options are limited in an attacking sense. We will need Zarate to have a blinder as he looks like the only player who can hit the proverbial cows arse.

I'd save Song for Southampton and bring in Obiang.
Valencia for Jelavic but other than that stay unchanged.

Regardless of all the negativity on here I think we will win today. The three draws would have been losses last year. There is much more to us now even if we are down to the bare bones.

This will be the first Boxing Day game I've been to for several years and I think I might take my boots along as I'll probably get half-an-hour based on the potential line up that I've seen.
We'll do well not to get beat, in all honesty.
